Carcinostar stood beneath a black willowtree, just on the edge of FrostClans territory. Waiting patiently for Nyxstar, his eyes darted left and right. A bright orange glow among the darkness and mist. He was a bit on edge, not wishing to be caught by any other members of the Clan in the rival territory. He heard a rustling in the bushes, tensing and peering at them. Waiting to see who would be revealed from the foliage and the brush, the air thick with humidity and his tension.

Nyxstar gracefully emerged from the bracken with her bow raised, pointed at the rival leader. Her wild, tangle of white hair encased her face, making everything in the surrounding area look quite dark. She had a poisedd posture, that of a skilled hunter, and she was not afraid to use it on the leader. With no hesitation, she quickly tossed up the bag of trade, and pulled back an arrow. She quickly shot an arrow so bag would be sent flying across the clearing, pinned up against the bark of the tree. Her snaky (her pupils are normal) eyes glanced back the man, then to the bag. The items you requested are in the bag. She hissed out. The bag was full of things you could ony get in the region of Frostclan. This was considered a very frowned upon thing to do, to betray your tribe. . But she must.

He didn't even flinch when she shot the arrow. Relaxing slightly, he opened the bag, looking inside. Everything seemed to be in order. Carcinostar pulled the smaller pouch from his pocket, and tossed it to her, a flash of snarkiness in his eye for a moment. "I think you'll be satisfied with what I've brought." He said, a bit of a toothy smirk spreading across his face.

Nyxstar snagged the bag out of the aair and opened it without breaking her icy stare. Finally, she peered into the bag. Her expression changed into a somewhat happy face. These herbs are extremely hard to come by.. you're giving them to me? Nyxstar looked back to Carcinostar with a subtle smile. Thank you. She caught herself smiling and quickly stopped, going back to looking leaderlike and dark.

He grinned himself, even though she was trying to cover up her smiles. He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the tree that had the arrow sunken into its thick black bark. "No problem, they may be hard to come by for you, however they're quite plentiful in my territory. If you look in the right places, that is." He said, tucking the small bag that she had given him in his pocket. "How do you plan on explaining those herbs to your Clan?"

Plentiful? Hm. The cold wasn't that bad of a place. They caught the large game while the other tribes got the small game. So that.S always a good thing, but it seemed now that she had a new problem on her hands. What was sshe going to tell her people? I... uh... im not sure. The farmiliar glow of wiseness faded and she searched the ground for an answer. Maybe she should just leave the gracious amount ofherbs, or never tell.~

He rubbed the slight scruff of his jaw in thought, the five o clock shadow making a kinda brush noise. "Well, you could always say that you merely invaded our territory for it. Or you stumbled across a large patch while on a hunt." He said, looking around. "Im sure they wont question it though, Im sure they'd be too caught up in actually /having/ them." He said, pulling out his dagger and twirling it boredly. After a bit, he looked over at her, smirking slyly. "So, Nyxstar, would you want to go on a hunt, maybe?~" He asked, pursing his lips slightly.

Hmmm.. I guess that was right. They would be to mystified by the fact that she actually possessed the herbs, rather than where she got them. Her eyes narrowed. Hunting? With a rival? Hmm.. perhaps this could show the dominance of her clan. To show that they are the strongest.. she already had her bow. And it would make an excuse for her absence. Hm.. That would be most delightful. I hope that's not your wielding of choice. She smirked.

He tucked the dagger away, grinning toothily. "Of course not, ma chère. That's only something to put the prey out of its misery. In case anything isn't fatal." He said, putting the dagger back into his sheathe. He pulled out a pair of claws from another sheathe on his belt. Wow, he had a lot of sheathes. Carcinostar adjusted them on his hands and flexed them. I feel like only you would get this reference, Nyx. "Well, Im ready. Where are we going to hunt?" He asked her, only asking her in the hopes that she might choose her own territory.

obby i get dat ref. Nyxstar adjusted the bow over her shoulder and stood up straight. Hm.. we could hunt to the north. The herds have migrated there for the fields of snow poppies.. they love those things. The strict rivalry between the two clans seemed to have melted for the short period of time. Both of the leaders had been at the small trade of items for a while. When one clan needed something that the other had, they would trade. Of course this was a secret and the leaders were very inverted about the subject. If it were Nyxstar that got asked where she got the herbs, she would just get loud and tell them to leave. The leader of Frostclan was very serious and ruthless. Her clan was battle ready and trained to win. They were the strong clan.. they needed no stealth as the other clans needed. They just needed the brawn to take down the large animals they hunted. And the muscle mass also helped when they went to war. She started walking through the trees, merely flicking her neck in the direction she was headed. Hopefully Carcinostar would recognize that as a command. After all.. they were on Frostclan territory.

The AshClan leader nodded, hesitating a moment before following her. Partially to tease her, the other part because he wasn't used to being ordered in any way shape or form. He briskly followed her though, brown eyes scanning the territory as they made their way to the apparent north. It was much cooler here than it was in AshClan, mostly because it was further to the north while AshClan lay more west, the other part being it was much, much shadier. That was something the leader was trying to adjust to, you practically had to have night vision in these god forsaken forests! He figured it would be much worse in summer, when there were actually more leaves on the trees, but this was just ridiculous.
Anyway, enough about trees. He continued on with her until their destination was in sight. A large herd of deer was in sight. The sight of them sent an all too familiar pang of hunger into his stomach. He was still getting used to it, as prey was becoming more scarce in these winter months. He crouched behind a bush by the entrance into the large expanse of tundra, squinting as he locked his gaze on the herd. Being respectful, he decided to let Nyx lead this hunt. It would probably only aggravate her if he just charged in and slaughtered her food supply. No, she had to lead this, and she had to choose what they were allowed to share. Any other leader would probably not give two shits about being respectful, ending up putting the Clans rivalry in front of a shared hunt. Not Carcino though. He actually was not into the whole rivalry thing, he was very giving. Many of the other Clans saw him as weak for such a thing, even some of his own Clanmates. He saw this as a strong attribute though, strengthening the bonds between the Clans. Almost like an alliance. He seeked nothing in return though, which was also rather peculiar. Again, sometimes his own Clan did not understand that sort of thing.

I'm gonna call her Nyx. ; u ; Nyx weaved through the thick forest with ease, not really thinking about how dense and dark it was. To her, this was natural. The darkness. The shadows.. when she didn't smell any leaves or trees, or even dirt, she felt out of place. But right now, she was in the zone. Any good warrior had the quality of blocking everything else out but the prey. Prey.. the prey was deer.. the herd was in front of her.. approximately twelve yards away.. and the prey was the biggest buck.. the prize buck. After all, the leader always gets the first and most fitting kill. And that buck, the biggest buck, had her name all over it. One of her silver eyes darted over and glanced at Carcino. He wasn't going to try and steal the kill? .. oh. Something drove her to smile a bit. That was sincere of him.
She notched an arrow, then turned back to the herd. Nyx stood up on her long legs and made a noise, making the deer look. With no hesitation, she let go of an arrow. The arrow pierced the deer right under the shoulder, in the heart. There was a noise of pain that came from the deer, which sent the whole herd running, including the wounded buck. But it was not long until the prey fell, laying on the ground and panting with shallow breaths. Nyx lowered her bow and smirked. That's how you hunt. She said to Carcino, looking down at him with a smile.

The AshClan leader grinned toothily back to her, then got to his feet. He didnt even have to use his weapon, she was that good of a shot. He strode over to the buck quickly, putting his claws away. With precision, he ended the animals suffering with a swift shove and twist of the arrow already embedded into its heart. He murmured something uunder his breath, a parayer of deliverance for the animal, then pulling the arrow from its lifeless corpse and handing it back to her. A small smile on his face.
He started to carve the animal open, ripping its pelt off but not takng any meat. He stepped away, handing her his dagger so that she could carve and take what she pleased then leave the scraps for him. In the meantime, he ripped some of the bones from the fallen bucks body. Stuffing them in his pocket. What? He collected animal bones.

Nyx took the arrow and licked the blood off before sticking it back in her quill. When she looked back, a dagger was being shoved in her direction. A tentative hand took it and brought it into the light. It seemed that the dagger was carefully crafted. The Frostclan leader looked back to Carcinostar and gave the dagger back. I've eaten today. No she hasn't. My clan has plenty of food. That part was true. But she did know that the other, southern tribes were struggling with their food supply. And it was the least she could do for the herbs. Besides.. she wasn't.. that hungry!
Why don't you eat first? She cooed in a sickly sweet voice, almost in a devilish way. Like a taunt.
